You might be surprised to learn that the precocious little chap who single-handedly stymied a Martian invasion is now a great-grandfather. Today, Jimmy Hunt is a sales representative for an industrial tool supply house. A youthful-looking grandfather of six, he recalls the making of a film that has yet to loosen its nostalgic hold on 30 and 40-somethings.

B MONSTER: Is Invaders From Mars a particular favorite among your films?

JIMMY HUNT: No, it wasn't my favorite because it was made in a short period of time -- like three and a half weeks. And I was the central focus of the whole movie. I mean I was in every scene. As a kid you'd like to be able to -- you had to go to school. You'd like to have a few minutes to yourself. But there wasn't any time for that. It was like I was either in school or I was on the set. It was tough. They expected a lot more out of you as you got older.

The Violent Years

"Get off the street -- here comes destruction incorporated!"
