Jack Hill's uncompleted UCLA student film had languished
on a shelf in his garage since 1961. Now, through the
auspices of one of Hollywood's brashest young turks,
Quentin Tarantino, the finishing touches are being applied
after 38 years. Tarantino, a longtime Jack Hill fan,
recognized the short film's historical significance
-- Jack and classmate Francis Coppola had worked on
each other's school projects and a portion of Hill's
film served as the inspiration for Apocalypse Now.
Tarantino, overseeing the release of Hill's cult film
Switchblade Sisters on laser disc, insisted it
be included.
