The film for which director Jack Hill is arguably best
known is inarguably a cult classic, one whose success
Hill attributes to little more than the confluence of
a very fortunate set of circumstances. "I worked
as a cameraman, a sound recordist, a writer and an editor
before I got my first chance to do a little directing
with Roger Corman," says Hill, summarizing his career
matter-of-factly. "Then I just fell into this thing
that turned out to be Spider Baby."
